SUBSTANCE TOWN

This project consists of putting into place a reflection and practice on reality and to document perceptions, using the town as matter. A matter which permits by its different levels of historical, political and economic construction, to bring different ways of looking at the exchanges which weave its reality. The flux and clichés, which run through and characterise it, is information which permits the initialisation of visual, auditory adventures and fictive narratives of everyday life.
The choice of video as a medium allows us to install our realisations amongst the production and overproduction of images and messages, for either personal or collective use, opening thereby an interrogation on the translation of reality, on the readability of the information that we receive, that we memorise.
The propos concerning the work as a whole is to accentuate the variety of approaches, and the rapport with which we establish a contact with somewhere and those who live there, to establish suggestive maps of our mental representations of the same town, giving rein to all sorts of protean elaborations and lectures.
