Grant Park experiments with the process of photosynthesis and chlorophyll, which uses the sunlight to print 16mm image sequences onto leaves. The images/leaves are attached to celluloid creating an animation of the Grant Park Atlanta location where the leaves were collected. The film illustrates the Grant Park landscape and the park’s history through the process of photosynthesis. The film sequence is of scenes I’ve filmed in the locations where I’ve gathered the leaves for printing as well a photosynthesis educational film. The film negatives are contact-printed on to the leaves utilizing the process and then each leaf image will be placed in sequence back onto 16mm clear celluloid for projection.

"Latte de cowboy" is a found footage music video experimenting with the idea above, going as far as to test the Koulechov system (editing and acting) in a supposedly impossible/unfeasible shot reverse shot. It’s the film aesthetic of the firearm that links one genre to the other, from westerns to thrillers and back. “The shot went off and… The bullet will have entered one ear of humanity to come out of the other!” (Karl Krauss) This music video was made for the band La Villageoise in 2015. by Jennifer
Campbell
A baby cries in the middle of a lush forest as milk pours over her naked body. The camera then follows the tube which is transporting the milk to the baby. The tube weaves through the rich forest floor to reveal the source of the nourishment. My aim is to create a contemporary allegory that brings together my personal experiences as a mother and a an esoteric journey that speaks to both shared ideas and mythologies around birthing and motherhood. I'm interested in the dualistic aspect of motherhood- the lushness of caring for a child while simultaneously enduring the physical and emotional struggles of what it means to be responsible for a life.

LEITÃO
Mónica is, in theory, anything. Therefore, her portraits are born from the juxtaposition of sounds and of images taken from the audiovisual archive that is YouTube. Copyrights are neglected, the purposes of those who are neglected are usurped and (im)possible truths are tested. Thus, Mónica’s Portrait isn’t intended as an inflexible document – which informs and certifies –, but rather as an audiovisual montage able to suggest the inevitable and multiple identity of things: of sound, of image and of mankind.

Series: Video without-camera, reinterpreting “camera-world” The body as a metaphor of love and war, Eros and Thanatos. The title alludes to two cultural imaginary; Courbet's famous painting "L'Origine du monde" and the movie of Alain Resnais' Hiroshima mon amor ". At the beginning of the movie of Resnais two bodies are shown in attitude of love. Here in "Origin of the World" I show a sex without love, Hiroshima without love. Only the instint of sex and death. Where the body becomes the site of the battle between Eros and Thanatos, between pain and pleasure between the informational explosion and an orgasm. The images and sounds are extracted from the free virtual network, they are re-signified from the assembly.

The Uninvited
3mn34 b/w stéréo 2015
Argentina
by Laura
Focarazzo
"The Uninvited" places the viewer in front of an anonymous, elusive face, a distorted representation of some of the ghosts that inhabit our unconscious. An observer / observed that sits in a state halfway between the real and the imagined, between remembering and forgetting, between life and death. This work invites viewers to immerse themselves in an abstract world, built by the only possible tool to shape the distortion.

Cerro Mariposa - Valparaiso -The remaining houses were these ones, not up there, but here. They looked nice, yes, but after the fire started all the rabbits that lived here perished. The fire was very high. It was as if the world was going to end.- The Chilean police claim that it was because of two birds. At 4pm on Saturday April 12, two birds fell on a power line crossing El Peral, on the outskirts of Valpariason. The wind was very strong and shook the cables. The birds were electrocuted. Sparks fell and ignited the pastures. The fire had begun. The south wind pushed the fire and the earth was burned.

Lanzarote, a volcanic island in the Canaries, was shaped during the 18th century by a series of eruptions. The island's mineral, semi-desertic landscapes preserve a memory of this history. In 2015, I traversed this area in search of a cataclysm. In this ravaged land, I saw the tentative beginnings of a return to life.

When a state phantomizes a population, creating another reality. When history disfigures the face of truth. When my story meets another story. When women disappear without trace. While white and privileged, I witness a repetition of stories. When violence against women's bodies equals violence from the use of words. The bodies of those we do not want to see or hear. From my studio window, I look out and my life crosses theirs.
