ANA is an experimental video about the darker zones of the Internet. It is a moodboard of the imagery shared by underground communities exposing their self-destruction: more precisely pro-ana/pro-mia (pro-anorexia and pro-bulimia). From those extremities is a discourse about modern day mortification and the spectacle of self-hatred enabled by web communication. Real physical performances re-enact visuals found on hidden forum and social media accounts. They are linked together by the thread of creepypasta (the web answer to an urban legend), going progressively deeper… These performances were remixed to represent the aesthetic of Internet culture. Glitch art, analogic distortion, selfies, references to occultism and others are integrated in the discourse. Video artefacts are voluntary. The spectator takes the place of an individual investigating the disappearance of several female identities from the Internet. The missing women appear in encrypted and hidden videos over the web, leading the protagonist in an esoteric puzzle he tries to decipher.

The main theme of the video is the dualism blind/perspicuous, which through texts, images and thoughts about body, conscience and world, resolves itself in the final image, an illuminated stone, a glass allegory and the mere seeming possibility of discovering life and clarity in the black of matter. That brute matter be self-conscious is exactly a logical mistake, obscene in the meaning it has to be out of the scene; it's not a rhetorical paradox, it is exactly an error. A question seems to join: why is this error beautiful?

Sometimes he didn’t know whether this image was the result of his reasoning from the long-term observations of events or a terrible magnification of his own inner self.(Vladimir Bartol)
The premonition of spore power and fragility of giants creates a feeling of weakness and a fear of being trapped into multilayered systems. The stringing of events almost runs out of time to make an impression. The connection of particles is not interrupted by the jeopardy of solitaires. What is the place of man in this sequence, characterized by the destruction of the environment, genetic engineering and perception of life as a very short period of time?

"Casa iceberg" explores the idea of displacement, both physical and mental, as a result of longing a renovated perspective on one’s existence. The social isolation produced by a specific place evokes the need for movement and transformation to a territory that could revert such condition. This alludes to the allegory of a ship with the mission of displacing an iceberg as a space in the process of relocating as a result of an adverse situation.

Europe is like a "site specific" where there is a juxtaposition of the physical space, the geopolitical space and network virtual media. A journey through sound and image processing referencing filmic imagery of the cultural construction of Europe, imagery that contrasts with the “visual” content of moving images which are extracted from the virtual network of those crossing the borders of Europe “without permission” (Melilla, 2014). In turn, such images are interfered with by visual noise from a “TV” without broadcast. As a found-footage piece I recompose the image no longer with the “matter” of the film, but with pixels of the media that mediate us. I experimented with the materiality of the rhythmic interferences that textualize the image, transforming the “objective” media perspectives into “subjective” auteur perspectives that ironically play with visual and audible “noise” to deconstruct the memory judgments of the informational present. P.D. ODE Europe is a Work posthumously dedicated to all those who have died crossing our borders...

The images of riots in Istanbul online (2013) (those they allowed to change a political system) here are transformed into colored blocks, as the minimum unit of representation “the pixel”. Atom of this new world we live, from each of our specific cultures. They are as the graphic charts in motion, that become (paradoxically) invisible the tangible reality of what they represent behind the informational codes ready to be scattered through the visual network insensitive to the "senses." These codes reveal parts of source images together with sound quickly recognize and gives them meaning. Sounds that speak directly to our "emotional body" and will cause "feelings" from "senses" to return to "feel" the cold-date information in the world in which we live. In the center of Hamburg, a man walks with a ladder which he leans against an old street light to pour a package of flour over its roof. The flour flutters to the sidewalk for a brief moment, before the man leaves the scene of the event again. The flour is a gift to unknown persons, a gesture of generosity. While in french language „fleur de farine“ means extremely fine flour, in English language "flour" and "flower" sound confusingly similar. By inversion of words, by breaking with linguistic requirements, things changes the attributes and the distribution of flour becomes a gesture of generosity. Benjamin Yavuzsoy's performance video is dedicated to the work "With Magritte" (Year: 1993) by Eran Schaerf, on which Rene Magritte's drawing "The man with the rose" can be seen.

Despite him, occasionally thanks to him, because of him, the flesh of the world dissolves and acquires substance. Yet, the world turns, loses him and takes him up again in the same old story in which everything can be bet on, laughter, tears, childbearing, in which beast and man forever take each other on.

Is it possible to be amazed by these images yet again?

Europeans living in Morocco without a working residence permit have a tourist visa for 3 months. If they want to stay legally in the country for more than 3 months they have to go to the Spanish enclaves of Ceuta or Melilla to have their passports stamped. Many Europeans live in Morocco for years doing that simple trip to Ceuta every month. When I was in Morocco for 6 months I also went to Ceuta to have my passport and my daughter’s stamped to stay longer in the country. These images were taken in Ceuta one Sunday. I had a camera and filmed. Before I crossed the border between Morocco and Spain I looked around me into the hills. I saw migrants looking at the borders from the top of the hill. I realised that they live in those hills, in the woods for weeks or even years: waiting. Waiting for the right time to cross.

At the end, the wrecks scattered on the beach announce the voyage's end. Meanwhile, bound for prosperous countries, the cargo of valuable ore is heaped into the holds of ships at the dock. This film uses the pinhole camera device, one of the earliest ways of capturing reality. The technique yields an unusual perception of the desert's geology, light, machines, and men.

I'm interested in the dualistic aspect of motherhood- the lushness of caring for a child while simultaneously enduring the physical and emotional struggles of what it means to be responsible for a life.

I recently found a few dust devils during each of my 3 trips to the California desert, but they are fast, dissipate quickly and mostly too far off the road to catch…always just ahead of my car. When I was ready to give up looking after my third desert trip and was focusing my camera on abandoned school, a well-formed small dust devil appeared about 10 meters to my right.

In 1971 Iván Zulueta shrank Schoedsack & Cooper’s King Kong (1933) into a dizzy 7 minutes, after refilming jumpingly off the TV screen during a broadcasting of the film. Thus the original 35mm (professional gauge) ended up compressed into the tiny 8mm (amateur gauge) of the Basque filmmaker, but only after having been converted into a TV signal. Now I take Zulueta's film and expand it to the original length. You may miss the story, but all the racism and sexism comes to the surface as never before.

I start from a rereading of Alain Resnais' documentary "Toute la mémoire du monde" to reflect on the different ways in which collective memories were stored in the past and at present. In the documentary, Resnais shows us the tangible, laborious process of the building’s stomach when it swallows, distributes and classifies all documentation coming into the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris. This contrasts with the rapid distribution of information and documents in the present, when before they are catalogued, they have already been spread out worldwide. This way, at the moment an event is taking place, it has already been established as an intangible collective memory of the present.

The title comes from the figurine hung at the car, as the title of a popular forgotten song.

"Summerland" is a territory where human beings and animals are exchanging a part of their souls and bodies. Here metaporphoses are constant, corrupting borders and boundaries between species. Many transformations occur secretly within the depth fo the forest. In Summerland the point of view is always ambiguous, submitted itself to a constant movement between reality and surreality. The title of the film refers to "Slumberland", imaginary country visited every night by Little Nemo, a little boy from Winsor Mc Cay's cartoon "Litlle Nemo".

Where does the image come from? From the inside or from the outside? Is it broadcast light or reflected light? Is it TV or cinema? Image and voice recorded during an interview with Kubelka at the (S8) Mostra de Cinema Periférico in 2012, the year of the “death of cinema”, as the Austrian filmmaker put it. His face was projected on the dead surface of a picture tube and then refilmed from that surface, which was never designed as a projection screen, but to receive the image from the inside. This contradiction between screened image and broadcast image is the contradiction between celluloid cinema and digital cinema. Life (heartbeats) and death (worms).

« The fortune you seek is in another cookie » a dizzying journey around the world in search for happiness as a poetic and political practice. The filmmaker finds himself at the protests in and around Gezi Park, Istanbul, in front of the gates of the Cinecitta in Rome and the streets of Santiago de Chile. Whether in the Atacama desert or a trailer park in California, he attempts to find a description of the universal longing. The collision of image, text and sound finds its counterpart in the seemingly contrary locations and scenes. The Devil's Dance meets the indulgence of astronomical precision and death at the foot of an ocean. The film is stargazing and a quest for meaning. It is a montage of a multi-year excursion that describes the subjective view of the world according to the filmmaker.

The experience of watching a video-renku is phantasmagoric. It is an "aesthetic experience" of the "information ethics" that misinformates by saturation and converts any event into a "show" of the real. This piece started as "video in progress" during the events that took place in Gaza in 2014. I extracted images from the network of two antagonistic "visions" of the same conflict to be re-signified from the "island edition " or digestion. Not with a "hard" nor "soft" assembly (as claimed Farocki) where the images dialogue between them, they are mounted with the overlap here. The images scream them all at once because every war is a failed dialogue. Building a temporal palimpsest with the aesthetic recreation extracted from information bombing until arriving to almost total abstraction, and invite us to contemplate this spectacle of light and color, as pure reality.

[video]: I see, I seized by sight. What I see is transmitted by a media that code/transcribe the visible and the audible in a signal to transmit and restore as just as possible the original message. But in the encoding and retransmission occurs errors and interpretations. Errors are corrected by assumption and habit. But what if errors were considered as a new signal, a new creation from the media? Let us consider that the act of looking modifies and influences the nature of the object itself: is what I see and hear really identical to the original message ? Is this the authentic one? And if not: what is it? What I see and hear is not an obviousness.
